About the role
You will support application development and customer engagements for advanced electrical and magnetic metrology solutions within the global CAPRES team. This includes implementing applications for CAPRES metrology systems focused on sheet resistance measurements, CIPT, MOKE, and FMR across R&D and high-volume manufacturing environments.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement applications for CAPRES metrology systems, focusing on sheet resistance measurements, CIPT, MOKE, and FMR.
- Define and execute characterization plans, analyzing electrical and magnetic measurement data to support customer evaluations and deployment.
- Develop application methodologies, test strategies, and best known methods (BKMs), documenting findings in evaluation reports and application notes.
- Provide on-site customer support, including recipe setup, recipe optimization, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and process integration.
- Implement and qualify new use cases at customer sites, ensuring adoption across R&D and high-volume manufacturing facilities.
- Capture customer technical challenges and requirements to deliver actionable recommendations to CAPRES headquarters for tool and software improvements.
What you'll need
- Doctorate (PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field; or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor applications, device characterization, or process engineering.
- Solid knowledge of engineering principles related to electrical and magnetic measurements and data analysis.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, or similar.
- Proven ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective technical solutions.
Nice to have
- Proven semiconductor process engineering experience in Ion Implantation, Metallization, Diffusion/CVD, or Etch.
- Expertise in process characterization utilizing sheet resistance metrology and manufacturing data analytics.
- Demonstrated success in process optimization, yield enhancement, and cross-functional problem solving.
- Strong experience in customer-facing roles, including on-site engagement and technical discussions.
- Experience contributing to customer evaluations and product releases within project teams.
