About the role
As a Computational Physics Algorithm Engineer in the Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) division, you will design, implement, and test algorithms for solving Maxwell equations on high-performance computing clusters leveraging multi-CPU and GPU platforms.
What you'll do
- Design, implement, and test advanced algorithms for fast solutions of Maxwell equations on high-performance computing (HPC) clusters.
- Leverage both multi-CPU and GPU platforms to run and optimize multi-physics simulations.
- Apply finite difference, finite element, and spectral methods along with associated linear algebra solvers for partial differential equations.
- Participate in collaborative software development practices, including code review, automated testing, and deployment.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of related work experience, Master's degree with 3 years of related work experience, or a Doctorate degree with 0 years of experience.
- Experience with numerical techniques for solving partial differential equations, including finite difference, finite element, or spectral methods.
- Knowledge of linear algebra solvers applied to computational physics problems.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) clusters using multi-CPU architectures.
Nice to have
- Experience with CUDA or other GPU programming frameworks for accelerating and optimizing multi-physics simulations.
- Familiarity with Fourier optics.
- Experience with collaborative software development practices such as code review, automated testing, and deployment.
