About the role

This role involves identifying, diagnosing, and resolving assembly process-related problems and optimizing CMP processes to meet physical and electrical requirements for Micron products. The position focuses on developing chemical mechanical planarization processes and driving CMP technology roadmaps that influence semiconductor manufacturing.

What you'll do

  • Develop chemical mechanical planarization processes to meet physical and electrical requirements.
  • Optimize CMP processes to reduce cost, variability, and improve capability.
  • Coordinate and carry out process, equipment, and material evaluation/optimization.
  • Conduct root cause and failure mode analysis for hardware and CMP consumables.
  • Perform fundamental research to drive innovative solutions for products.
  • Support process transfer to production facilities.

What you'll need

  • M.S./Ph. D. (or equivalent education) in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related technical fields.
  • 5+ years of semiconductor process engineering experience in CMP related process, preferably in 300mm wafer fab.
  • Experience in dielectrics/metals CMP process development with fundamental understanding of slurry/pad interactions.
  • Experience in FEOL/BEOL CMP process development and understanding of CMP related electrical/probe failure.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing.

Nice to have

  • Experience with design of experiment techniques (DOE), SPC, Defect analysis and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistics, preferably in statistical process control and hands on experience with CMP tools and endpoint systems.

Skills: chemical mechanical planarization, CMP processes, slurry/pad interactions, FEOL/BEOL CMP, process integration
