About the role
This role is part of the Digital Foundation Solutions (DFS), focusing on providing a flexible and reliable cloud platform and managing the DFS US budget processes. The Cloud Optimization Engineer will provide FinOps insights to enable workload teams to be compliant with their allocated budget and promote the adoption of FinOps governance, tooling, and community of practice.
What you'll do
- Manage hybrid cloud spend in relation to life cycle management for private cloud/on-prem and workload management for public cloud.
- Manage Flexera access for the US, ensuring cloud cost data accuracy.
- Provide cloud usage optimization recommendations based on data insights and best practices.
- Deliver monthly reporting and dashboards displaying cloud cost, utilization, and performance metrics.
- Build and automate data pipelines, dashboards, and cost models for accurate insights and forecasting.
- Drive FinOps best practices, KPIs, and continuous maturity improvement across the organization.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Data Analytics/Science, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in FinOps, with focus on Cloud Financial management.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platform (Azure/GCP) and cost management tools.
- Strong understanding of cloud pricing models and commitment management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics tools (SQL, Python, PowerShell).
- Understanding of capex and opex budget tracking and oversight.
