About the role
As a Board Validation and Test Engineer on the test engineering team, you will drive board DFT, design validation test platforms, and high-volume ICT and FCT bring up across product lines.
What you'll do
- Drive PCBA testability (DFT) from schematic and functional reviews, assessing test point and boundary scan coverage for high-volume manufacturing. - Develop test platforms for initial board bring up and engineering validation builds, writing test methods and extracting metrics using Python programming. - Assess contract manufacturing capabilities and define requirements for in-circuit test (ICT) and functional test (FCT). - Drive board yield fallout investigations using systematic debug methods across power integrity, clocks, resets, boot sequences, and mixed-signal paths. - Use instrumentation including scopes, logic analyzers, current probes, and thermal tools to isolate intermittent and marginal failures. - Create debug playbooks, DFT guidelines, failure isolation documentation, and test strategies across the product life cycle from NPI to high-volume manufacturing.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience. - 7+ years of hands-on experience in board bring up and validation. - DFT experience and practical knowledge for ICT and FCT. - Deep understanding of analog, digital, power, and mixed-signal systems and boundary scan (JTAG). - Hands-on experience in Python programming for test automation. - Experience with data analysis using tools such as JMP and dashboards. - Experience working with contract manufacturers worldwide.
