About the role
This Automation & Controls Engineering Co-Op will gain hands-on experience with industrial control systems in a high-tech manufacturing environment. This co-op provides exposure to real-world projects involving PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and equipment commissioning.
What you'll do
- Assist with the design, integration, and documentation of automation systems and controls.
- Support PLC logic development, debugging, and optimization (primarily Allen-Bradley/Rockwell) and HMI interface updates.
- Help perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation-related downtime, quality issues, and system failures.
- Participate in the development and testing of automated inspection systems using vision, sensors, and gauging.
- Support system commissioning, validation, and acceptance testing activities.
- Troubleshoot control systems, document findings, and implement recommended diagnostics or improvements.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls/Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong interest in industrial automation, controls, and manufacturing systems.
- Basic familiarity with PLC programming concepts (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred) and HMI/SCADA systems through coursework, labs, or prior projects/internships.
- Fundamental understanding of industrial networks, electrical systems, and safety practices.
- Ability to work full-time onsite for the duration of the co-op term.
