About the role
This role involves supporting automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers with pre-sales and post-sales technical engagements focused on optical simulation. The position specifically supports optical simulation for exterior lighting, interior lighting, camera systems, HUD, LiDAR, and ADAS applications.
What you'll do
- Support automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in Korea with optical simulation technical engagements.
- Build proof of concept demonstrations for automotive optical systems.
- Develop and demonstrate AI-assisted workflows integrating simulation tools like Zemax or Speos with Python automation.
- Lead technical trainings, workshops, and customer seminars on automotive optical simulation methodologies.
- Create technical documentation, application notes, and localized marketing materials for automotive optical use cases.
- Explore and prototype how generative AI tools can improve design exploration and simulation efficiency in automotive contexts.
What you'll need
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, or a related engineering discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of industrial experience in automotive optical system development including cameras, LiDAR, HUD, HMI displays, interior monitoring systems, or automotive lighting.
- Hands-on experience with optical simulation and design tools such as Zemax, Speos, or equivalent platforms.
- Working proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++ for automation and workflow development.
- Working level English communication skills for technical documentation and customer engagement.
Nice to have
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to engineering, simulation, or product development workflows.
- Experience with Ansys Lumerical, Ansys Mechanical, Code V, RSoft, or Light-tools.
