About the role
This role involves the design, development, and validation of complete power converter solutions, expanding the value of ST products across Industrial, Automotive, and Datacenter Infrastructure segments. You will develop innovative digital solutions and advanced control algorithms at a system level.
What you'll do
- Design and implement power conversion projects such as demo boards, promotional tools, and reference designs.
- Use engineering tools including OrCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE, and AI-based design assistants.
- Contribute to the creation of new intellectual property, including patents and innovative system solutions.
- Investigate emerging application fields and define technical specifications for new products.
- Support Divisional and Regional Application Labs in product definition, validation, and system-level testing.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support customer needs and application development.
What you'll need
- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automation Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of power converter topologies and experience in converter design.
- Basic knowledge of the main technologies used in power electronics.
- Strong knowledge of control theory, supported by mathematical modeling for power converters at system level.
- Programming experience in the STM32 ecosystem for embedded firmware development, including CubeMX, CubeIDE, or IAR, with knowledge of C language.
- Basic knowledge of PCB layout and schematic design tools such as OrCAD or KiCad.
- Strong knowledge of simulation tools such as MATLAB toolboxes, Simulink, Simscape, Simetrix, and SPICE.
- Basic knowledge of analog electronics and signal conditioning circuits.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments for application debug and testing, such as power supplies, power meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong technical writing skills for preparing documentation.
