About the role
This role designs, develops, and optimizes AI software frameworks, enhancing the performance and functionality of frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and optimize for AI Inference and finetuning workloads for performance benchmarking on Intel Data center CPU and GPU.
- Implement distributed algorithms such as model/data parallel frameworks, parameter servers, dataflow based asynchronous data communication in deep learning frameworks.
- Propose optimizations in SW and kernel implementation to improve workload performance.
- Profile DL and LLM models to identify performance bottlenecks and propose solutions across individual component teams.
- Optimize code for various computing hardware backends.
- Interact with external consortiums to propose and contribute benchmarks on Intel HW platforms.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's & 4+ years or Master's & 3+ years or PhD & 0 years of relevant industry experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or AI or computer vision or SW Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Programming skills in Python, C/C++.
- CUDA Low level programming and performance optimization skills for CPU and GPU including code generation, performance optimization, distributed compute and resource management.
- Computer architecture.
- Deep Learning algorithms.
- DL frameworks (e.g. vLLM, SGLang, PyTorch, JAX, etc.).
Nice to have
- Hardware-software co-design and stack optimization.
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science or related field.
- Background in AI framework internals, model execution, or backend integration.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration environments.
- Knowledge of deep learning algorithms, model architectures, and workload patterns.
- Proven ability to optimize AI training or inference workloads for various hardware backends.
- Experience developing in Linux environments.
