About the role
This position is for a Santa Clara, California-based New Product (NPI) instructor, serving as both a technical instructor and technical expert on existing and new products. The role focuses on learning new PLC/NPI products, gaining experience in startup and sustaining production tasks, and developing/delivering initial classroom and hands-on training.
What you'll do
- Conduct semiconductor equipment training needs assessment, collecting information on work procedures, workflow, and functional knowledge.
- Communicate with product groups to obtain current product information for course updates and manage multiple projects of diverse scope and complexity.
- Lead NPI training development projects and develop hardware training student guides using desktop publishing tools.
- Present technical training in-house and at customer sites, conducting classroom and hands-on learning environments.
- Provide coaching and leadership to other instructors and serve as a mentor to less senior instructors.
- Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment inventories.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, education, or training, plus 4 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience in installation, programming, safety, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience with semiconductor machinery equipment such as robots, programmable controllers, power supplies, pneumatics, vacuum systems, power distributions, facilities, high voltage systems, high current systems, and robot controllers.
- Ability to follow manuals, specifications, blueprints, and schematics, and use hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
- If no bachelor’s degree, 6 years of professional semiconductor equipment experience.
- Tool Specific Required Experience: CMP.
Nice to have
- 2 years of formal or informal experience in education, performance-based training, or training/presentation delivery to external customers.
- Nationally recognized certification in "Instructional Design" or 2 years of formal or informal experience in curriculum development and/or instructional design.
- Knowledge of MS Windows applications and computer networking.
- Experience in e-Learning.
- Experience in videography and photography.
