This working student role focuses on AI-assisted optimization of analog integrated circuits, specifically through the development and benchmarking of LLM-based approaches for circuit design.
What you'll do
- Review and compare recent AI- and LLM-based approaches for analog circuit sizing, optimization, and design-space exploration.
- Develop LLM-assisted methods for circuit topology understanding, result interpretation, device sizing, and design knowledge extraction.
- Validate developed methods on analog circuit blocks and benchmark accuracy, robustness, and design effort against conventional and other LLM-based optimization methods.
- Document methods, implementation, benchmark results, and limitations.
- Present ideas and findings.
What you'll need
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of and interest in AI-based engineering workflows, large language models, and agent-based methods for designing automation.
- Basic experience with analog circuit design, simulation, and interpretation of circuit performance results.
- Understanding of analog circuit trade-offs, device sizing principles, design-space exploration, and numerical optimization methods for circuit optimization.
- Familiarity with Cadence design tools and Python.
- Good English communication skills.
