About the role

Apple’s Wireless System and Compliance Engineering team is seeking an engineer to work on radiated system characterization and performance analysis across connectivity technologies including WLAN, BT, UWB, and GNSS for wireless products. You will execute OTA validation plans, support certification testing, and debug wireless performance issues across cross-functional engineering teams.

What you'll do

  • Translate carrier and industry requirements into comprehensive test cases for wireless connectivity.
  • Execute radiated over-the-air (OTA) validation plans across product portfolios.
  • Support wireless performance and certification testing at third-party test laboratories.
  • Debug RF and wireless performance issues alongside antenna, RF hardware, product design, and software engineering teams.
  • Perform radiated system characterization and performance analysis across WLAN, BT, UWB, and GNSS technologies.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on working experience with antenna design and testing, anechoic chambers, and RF test equipment.
  • Solid understanding of RF component characteristics and behavior.
  • Solid understanding of at least one wireless technology: IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth, GNSS, LTE, GSM, UMTS, or CDMA.

Nice to have

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).
  • Understanding of PHY Layer and MAC/application layer protocols.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB simulations.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment from vendors such as Keysight or Rohde & Schwarz.
  • Familiarity with OTA test standards and methodologies including CTIA and 3GPP.
  • Experience driving certification programs at third-party labs such as PTCRB, CTIA, or CWG.
  • Exposure to AI tools and workflows such as LLMs, AI coding assistants, and automation platforms.
