About the role

The Wafer Fab Process Technician runs volume production in support of daily wafer fabrication schedules, ensuring process stability, recipe control, and yield performance across InP photonic device lines. The role focuses on operating photolithography coat/develop track systems and steppers/scanners, alongside wet etch processes supporting InP Buried Heterostructure (BH) DFB lasers and BH Gain Chips.

What you'll do

- Execute coat, expose/align, develop, and descum process steps on litho track systems and steppers/scanners to maintain critical dimension (CD), overlay, and film thickness specifications. - Run wet etch steps including stripe etch and Mesa etch to support MOCVD epitaxial regrowth, controlling etch time, temperature, and chemistry for mesa profile, undercut, and etch depth targets. - Perform wet bench operations including dielectric mask removal, resist strip, pre-regrowth surface cleans, chemical bath changes, concentration checks, and etch-rate monitors. - Perform in-line CD, overlay, etch depth, and defect inspection checks using metrology tools such as CD-SEM, overlay tools, and profilometry before releasing lots downstream. - Lead root-cause investigations for process excursions and drift across litho CD, resist adhesion, defectivity, wet etch rates, and mesa profiles using short-loop wafers and engineering splits. - Maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) control charts, process recipes, and Process-of-Record (POR) documentation for assigned photolithography and wet etch modules.

What you'll need

- 5 to 10 years of semiconductor or photonics wafer processing experience, with direct III-V/InP process experience. - Working knowledge of photolithography operations, including coat/develop tracks, expose/align systems, and CD and overlay control. - Hands-on proficiency operating metrology tools, including CD-SEM, overlay tools, defect inspection equipment, and profilometry in a production setting. - Working knowledge of wet etch chemistries, selectivity, and etch profile control for III-V semiconductors (such as InP and InGaAsP) and dielectric masks. - Experience leading process troubleshooting and root-cause investigations using targeted checks and engineering splits. - Ability to work in a cleanroom environment around acids and solvents following required chemical safety protocols.

Nice to have

- Associate degree in electronics, chemistry, materials science, or a related technical field. - Direct, hands-on experience operating photolithography track systems and steppers/scanners in a volume production environment. - Hands-on wet etch and wet bench experience on III-V materials (such as InP and InGaAsP).
