About the role
This role provides enterprise-level technology leadership for organic strategy, M&A, and investment decisions for the Semi and Product Test businesses. It informs where Teradyne builds, buys, partners, invests, or licenses, specifically across semiconductor, wafer-level, system-level test, photonics, and adjacent semiconductor capital equipment.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain the Enterprise Technology Strategy Map (ETSM) defining technology direction across major discontinuities.
- Manage the development and rollout of a cohesive quarterly enterprise strategy document.
- Lead the development of M&A and investment strategy for select focus areas, including business need identification, investment thesis, and target selection.
- Lead use-case creation and proof-of-concept efforts with M&A targets to validate technical fit and strategic value.
- Establish and roll out technical diligence and related integration standards for inorganic activities.
- Guide the technical diligence on new Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) investments and participate in the CVC Technology Advisory Board.
What you'll need
- 15+ years of experience in senior technical leadership roles within semiconductor, semiconductor capital equipment, or similarly complex technology-driven businesses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, and a master’s degree (technical master’s or MBA).
- Demonstrated experience defining and driving enterprise-level technology strategy, including build, buy, and partner decisions.
- Hands-on experience supporting or leading technology-driven M&A, including technical diligence and target evaluation.
- Proven ability to operate as a senior individual contributor with enterprise-wide influence and regular engagement with executive leadership.
Nice to have
- Formal management education.
- Direct experience in semiconductor test, wafer-level or system-level test, photonics, or adjacent semiconductor capital equipment.
- Experience with corporate venture capital or minority technology investments.
- Experience serving on a technology advisory board or investment committee.
