About the role
This role involves designing precision mechanical assemblies for industrial machine vision systems, including camera, optics, illumination, and sensor integration, supporting semiconductor test equipment development.
What you'll do
- Design precision mechanical assemblies for industrial machine vision systems.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T.
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Support integration of cameras, optics, sensors, and lighting into automated machinery.
- Conduct root cause investigations for mechanical and system performance issues.
- Generate complete engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and ECOs.
What you'll need
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or comparable degree.
- Two or more years of practical experience developing and integrating optical machine vision systems (industrial cameras, lenses, mirrors, beam splitters, machine vision lighting, strobed LED illumination).
- Experience working in an automated machinery environment.
- Proficient in design and modeling applications such as Solidworks, GD&T, Tolerance analysis, Thermal considerations, Design for Manufacturing, Sheet metal, Machined parts, Aluminum extrusions, Tooling.
- Knowledgeable in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Optical, and Automation Troubleshooting.
