Technical enablement and reference architecture role focused on AMD Instinct GPU clusters and high-speed datacenter fabrics.
About the role
As a Technical Marketing Engineer within the Software Product Management organization for AMD’s Data Center GPU Business Unit, you will support customer engagement, education, deployment, scaling, and optimization of AMD Instinct-powered data center GPU solutions. You will help customers, partners, and internal teams understand how to design, deploy, and operate AMD-powered GPU clusters and networks across HPC and AI workloads.
What you'll do
- Translate internal reference designs for AMD Instinct GPU clusters into customer-ready technical briefs, reference architectures, and deployment guides. - Articulate system-level value propositions—including performance, scalability, networking, power, cooling, and TCO—for sales teams and partners engaging AI data center customers. - Create and maintain enablement assets including pitch decks, whitepapers, FAQs, competitive positioning, and architectural overviews. - Design and deliver technical training covering GPU clusters, networking fabrics, power, cooling, and data center-scale deployments for internal teams, OEMs, ODMs, CSPs, and end customers. - Partner with architecture, product management, and engineering teams to align customer-facing materials with reference designs and provide structured field feedback.
What you'll need
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Understanding of GPU-based AI clusters, including scale-up and scale-out architectures. - Hands-on knowledge of datacenter networking, including 400G/800G Ethernet, RoCE, leaf-spine topologies, and rail vs. fat-tree designs. - Familiarity with power delivery and cooling for high-density racks, including air cooling, liquid cooling, and rack-level power design. - Ability to translate complex technical content into documentation, presentations, and structured training materials.
Nice to have
- MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. - Experience in technical marketing, systems engineering, solutions architecture, or a related role focused on datacenter infrastructure or AI platforms. - Experience working with OEMs, ODMs, or cloud service providers. - Experience with documentation and publishing workflows including Markdown, Read the Docs, and Jupyter Notebooks.
