About the role
The Technical Director Validation works in the lab to automate data collection and provide frameworks for developing validation environments to check system performance and specification compliance. The role focuses on lab bring-up and characterization of memory interface chips, covering processor-memory interfaces, DDR topologies and protocols, and high-speed signaling.
What you'll do
- Execute lab bring-up and validation of high-speed memory buffer semiconductor products.
- Develop test methodologies to validate silicon designs against specifications.
- Develop scripts, particularly in Python, for automating lab equipment and analyzing lab data.
- Lead validation tasks covering bench planning, preparation, characterization execution, and methodology improvements.
- Work with silicon design teams to develop experiments, drive data collection, and present results analysis.
- Provide inputs to FPGA, system, and PCB design requirements, and support applications teams in resolving customer issues.
What you'll need
- 20+ years of relevant experience in post-silicon validation and bench testing.
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in bench testing and characterization of high-speed and/or memory IO devices.
- Proficiency with validation hardware, board design fundamentals, and signal integrity and power integrity concepts.
- Hands-on skill with high-speed lab equipment including oscilloscopes, BERTs, and signal generators.
- Demonstrated experience writing software for lab automation, especially Python.
Nice to have
- Exposure to DDRx characterization.
- Experience or knowledge of ATE or System Testing.
- Experience in high-speed digital designs, board designs, PCB layouts, and signal integrity concepts.
- Working knowledge of hardware test equipment such as logic analyzers and protocol analyzers.
