About the role
As a Technical Content Writer at Efficient Computer, you will explain processor architecture capabilities to engineers, product managers, and technology leaders through hands-on technical material. You will work directly with hardware and the effcc Compiler to turn customer applications, benchmarks, and reference designs for the Electron E1 processor into reproducible technical content.
What you'll do
- Write technical blog posts, application notes, white papers, benchmark reports, and newsletters covering the Fabric architecture, compiler behavior, workloads, and application design.
- Bring up evaluation hardware, port and build applications using the effcc Compiler, and set up instrumentation to measure energy use and performance.
- Build demos, sample applications, and reference projects that external developers can clone and execute.
- Script product walkthroughs, demo videos, technical explainers, and develop slide content for sales presentations, conference talks, and partner briefings.
- Create solution briefs, competitive one-pagers, and trade show content, while supporting technical webinars and workshops.
- Analyze measurement data using Python, create explanatory figures, and verify that published metrics trace directly to underlying workloads and hardware.
What you'll need
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in semiconductors, embedded systems, or processor and compiler tools, within engineering, marketing, or a combination of both.
- Fluency in C or C++, including the ability to navigate an unfamiliar codebase, build it, and make changes independently.
- Experience bringing up evaluation boards, connecting sensors, reading serial consoles, and debugging toolchains or unexpected hardware measurements.
- Working knowledge of Python or a similar language for analyzing data, plotting results, and developing internal tools.
- Portfolio or examples of technical writing, such as blog posts, application notes, white papers, documentation, or conference papers.
Nice to have
- Experience with low-power or battery-powered system design, energy measurement, or power profiling tools.
- Familiarity with compilers, instruction set architectures, or dataflow and spatial architectures.
- Background in embedded machine learning, digital signal processing, or real-time control.
- Experience in drones and autonomy, industrial monitoring, space and defense, or wearable devices.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for interactive demos and technical web content.
- Experience creating technical diagrams, figures, and data visualizations.
Skills: technical writing, C/C++, EVK, benchmarking, application notes
