About the role
This role leads the validation and automation of ARM-based server hardware platforms, ensuring custom silicon meets uptime, thermal reliability, and performance targets. Testing focuses on custom CPU, memory, interconnects, power, and remote management interfaces using Linux and internal SDK tools.
What you'll do
- Architect, design, develop, and automate comprehensive test plans and test scenarios for CPU, memory, PCIe, power/thermal, and system uptime. - Direct integrated system tests across hardware, firmware, and OS, executing stress workloads, power cycling, and long-duration soak tests. - Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites and frameworks across UEFI, Linux/Unix OSs, BMC automation, and virtualized OS environments. - Perform diagnostics and failure analysis across hardware, kernel, and firmware boundaries, collaborating with HW and SW design engineers to isolate faults. - Analyze test results, track quality metrics including error rates, MTBF, uptime, and thermal readings, and build automated reporting dashboards. - Identify coverage improvements and develop new test tools to refine automation execution for hyperscale deployment scenarios.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Nice to have
- 2+ years of system testing or validation experience in enterprise/server hardware, or experience in a data center environment. - Understanding of computer architecture, ARM Architecture versions, SoC designs, PCI Express, DDR memory, Ethernet, NVMe, CXL, NUMA, and Arm System Ready. - Experience with Linux system administration, shell scripting, kernel log analysis, and kernel panic analysis. - Understanding of bootloaders, BIOS/UEFI, or firmware. - Programming and scripting experience with C, C++, Bash, Python, Git version control, code review, and CI pipelines. - Experience with test methodologies including unit, integration, stress, and regression testing, as well as benchmarks such as Stress-ng, Linpack, SPECint/SPECfp, or UEFI benchmarks. - Hands-on experience with debuggers, log analyzers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or protocol analyzers for PCIe and networking.
