Focus on power electronics solutions for AI-DC and Automotive industries.
About the role
This role involves leading the definition and architectural development of solid-state power device solutions for safety-critical systems and motor control. The focus is on power electronics platforms for AI-DC and Automotive industries.
What you'll do
- Lead system architecture definition for power electronics solutions, ensuring alignment with functional safety, performance, and scalability requirements.
- Collaborate with OEMs and internal cross-functional teams to define and refine system-level requirements and interfaces.
- Drive end-to-end architectural decisions, balancing trade-offs across power, sense & control, thermal, cost, mechanical, and safety constraints.
- Work with the Functional safety team to ensure compliance with ISO 26262, UL safety and other relevant automotive or Industrial safety standards.
- Translate customer and market requirements into robust, modular, and reusable system architectures that support long-term product roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to systems engineering teams, guiding best practices in architecture modeling, safety analysis, and system validation.
What you'll need
- Experience building power electronics systems from an OEM or semiconductor applications background.
- Expertise in using MOSFETs, SiC, GaN power ICs, AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion topologies, motor control, and magnetics.
- Proven experience in power electronics systems focusing on AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion topologies and architecture, using SiC, GaN, and Si MOSFETs.
- Strong background in electrical and thermal modeling, simulations, and bench testing.
- Hands-on experience in system architecture of high voltage power electronics products in automotive safety critical applications or Industrial applications.
- Experience in collaborating with Tier 1 Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on the development and integration of power electronics systems, including understanding system-level requirements and component selection.
Nice to have
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field with minimum 10 years of experience in power electronics for automotive systems, AI datacenter or other related applications.
- Deep understanding of solid-state switching technologies (e.g., SiC, GaN) and their application in high-reliability automotive and industrial environments.
- Proven experience architecting systems that meet functional safety requirements under ISO 26262, including development of safety concepts, technical safety requirements, and safety cases.
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and system integration challenges.
- Familiarity with different motors, motor control algorithms, and position control.
- Prior experience representing technical strategy in customer engagements, industry working groups, or standardization bodies.
