About the role
This role involves supervising manufacturing operations to establish a continuous improvement culture and implement lean principles. You will manage a subassembly manufacturing line team to meet production, quality, and cost objectives, focusing on highly complex machines used to create essential devices.
What you'll do
- Ensure compliance with Safety and 5S standards, continuous improvement activities, and a culture of safety.
- Ensure the quality output of the Veeco Flow Technologies (VFT) group meets corporate Out-of-box quality (OBQ) and in-box-quality (IBQ) goals.
- Ensure processes, parts, and personnel comply with 3rd party certifications and compliance requirements through training, audits, and compliance.
- Supervise VFT efforts to meet quarterly/annual plans and establish an operations planning model.
- Develop schedules and manpower requirements for VFT.
- Institutionalize continuous improvement using 8D problem solving and ensure closed-loop feedback for corrective actions.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated track record of driving operational excellence and team performance.
- Proven success leading, coaching, and developing teams of technicians, assemblers, and production personnel.
- Strong background in electromechanical manufacturing, including assembly, testing, process improvement, and production support.
- Experience operating within highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Experience with value stream mapping and lean principles.
