About the role
As a Supervisor Engineer, Software Support, you will lead a software support team investigating, recreating, and troubleshooting customer-reported software issues to resolution. The software directly controls semiconductor processing equipment hardware, including robotics, gas valves, and temperature controllers.
What you'll do
- Oversee day-to-day support team operations, including task assignment, workload distribution, punctuality tracking, and backlog management. - Act as the final point of contact for complex or high-priority customer escalations to ensure timely resolution. - Provide coaching, identify training needs, and create individualized professional development plans for support staff. - Investigate reported issues, reproduce defects, determine root cause, and recommend corrective actions. - Guide team members in creating bug reports for development engineers to resolve. - Coordinate with the account team and GPS group when investigating reported issues, and travel to customer sites for installations, training, and troubleshooting of ASM products.
What you'll need
- BS with 8+ years or MS with 4+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. - Software development or software test (QA) experience. - Troubleshooting skills across hardware and software, with familiarity in data structure, networking, algorithm, and modern operating systems (Windows). - Ability to travel 10-25% domestically and internationally.
Nice to have
- Expertise in C++, C#, Python, and Gitlab/Github. - Experience with semiconductor equipment. - Experience with machine control software, Semiconductor Factory Automation, multi-threaded applications, real-time software, device drivers, or interrupt-driven software.
