Focus on ML system software, telemetry pipelines, and hardware validation for rack-scale systems.
About the role
This supercomputing internship focuses on the design, development, and deployment of ML system software required for operating rack-scale systems. The work spans network performance, telemetry pipelines, system health analysis, and provisioning for data center scale ML workloads.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and deploy ML system software required for operating rack-scale systems. - Build and optimize network performance, telemetry creation, and telemetry processing pipelines. - Perform analysis of system-level health and performance across compute infrastructure. - Handle deployment and provisioning of software frameworks and execute hardware validation. - Maintain secure and performant systems configured for data center scale ML workloads.
What you'll need
- Progress towards a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. - Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust. - Proficiency in Python. - Understanding of data structures and algorithms. - Understanding of low-level software engineering. - Understanding of hardware/software co-design.
Nice to have
- Experience with Linux internals, kernel development, or driver debugging. - Experience with hardware diagnostics or interpreting hardware logs. - Exposure to server virtualization or CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with Rust or embedded development.

How we counted: 238 open Infrastructure/Platform Software (GPU Software Stack) roles from 20 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 22 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Software, Firmware & Systems family row.
