About the role
This internship provides students with opportunities to contribute to meaningful engineering projects in design engineering, spanning Analog/Mixed-Signal Design, Digital Design, Design Verification, Physical Design/Layout, RF Design, or Design Automation/CAD.
What you'll do
- Design, simulate, and evaluate analog/mixed-signal circuits, including amplifiers, converters, or power management circuits.
- Support the design and implementation of digital logic for integrated circuits using RTL development or microarchitecture.
- Develop verification environments, test plans, and test cases using SystemVerilog or UVM.
- Support physical implementation of integrated circuits, including floor planning or timing closure.
- Contribute to the design, simulation, and testing of radio-frequency circuits like transmitters or receivers.
- Develop and improve software, scripts, tools, and workflows for semiconductor product design and verification.
What you'll need
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Microelectronics.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Coursework, research, projects, or internship experience related to semiconductor design or verification.
- Exposure to technical areas such as analog circuits, digital circuits, RTL design, verification, computer architecture, VLSI, RF systems, signal processing, or physical design.
- Experience with tools or languages including Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, UVM, Python, C/C++, MATLAB, Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens EDA.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

How we counted: 313 open Analog IC Design (Analog Design) roles from 51 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 15 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Analog & Mixed-Signal family row. Figures refresh nightly.
