About the role
This role involves managing industry suppliers, developing and implementing commodity strategies, and resolving delivery, cost, and production challenges for Lam Research.
What you'll do
- Own, develop, align, and implement commodity strategy.
- Facilitate global agreement negotiations, renegotiations, and contract addendums.
- Negotiate performance-based, preferred supplier agreements.
- Represent strategic commodity management on a cross-functional strategic commodity team.
- Define and monitor metrics relative to supplier performance and drive gap closure.
- Evaluate cost and quality performance benchmarks and supply base risks.
- Develop and apply strategic commodity plans for the Electromechanical Assembly (EMA) commodity.
What you'll need
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment.
- Proven experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Semiconductor industry experience.
- Process control knowledge such as Six Sigma Green Belt or above.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, quality control, problem-solving techniques, market dynamics, cost trends, availability, and global supply landscape.
- Familiar with metal fabrication techniques: machining, bending, welding and assembly, and testing for semiconductor applications.
- Excellent analytical skills using spreadsheets.
- Previous project management experience and knowledge of basic project management concepts.
- Experience with continuity planning and risk mitigation development with suppliers.
- Experience in capacity planning, cost reduction approaches and lead time reduction.
- Ability to use AI tools to bring efficiency and speed to daily tasks.
