About the role
This internship focuses on UWB-based relative localization and cooperative awareness for enhancing safe interactions between mobile systems and infrastructure. The role will involve development on NXP UWB hardware and software platforms.
What you'll do
- Familiarize with UWB fundamentals, localization algorithms, and V2X message formats (CAM, VAM).
- Implement and evaluate localization and tracking procedures on NXP UWB platforms.
- Design and execute test campaigns to characterize performance in LOS and NLOS conditions.
- Analyze experimental results and provide recommendations for algorithms, radio configurations, and system architectures.
- Participate in the realization of a final demonstrator, if project maturity and available time permit.
What you'll need
- Final-year student in embedded systems, signal processing, wireless communications, or robotics.
- Good programming skills in Python and/or C/C++.
- Knowledge of digital signal processing, estimation, localization, or wireless communication systems.
- Practical and structured approach to experimental work.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, or machine-learning-based classification.
- Experience with MATLAB, embedded development, robotics, data analysis, or UWB.
