About the role
As a Staff Server Validation Engineer in Systems Design Engineering, you will deliver balanced, scalable, and automated solutions to support product development, root cause analysis, and issue resolution. Most of your day will be spent in post-silicon validation activities supporting EPYC and AMD Instinct products through triage and debug.
What you'll do
- Drive technical innovation across validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and cross-functional technical initiatives. - Debug issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs. - Collaborate with multiple teams to develop test plans and execute testing to ensure features are validated and optimized on time. - Engage with software and hardware modeling frameworks while collaborating with supporting technical teams. - Lead complex debug efforts for silicon findings to identify root cause and resolution.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering. - Experience in post-silicon validation roles involving debugging OS, FW, silicon, and SoC/platform HW issues. - Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy. - Programming and scripting skills in languages such as C/C++, Perl, Ruby, or Python. - Extensive experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
Nice to have
- Experience with one of AMD's customer validation teams. - Experience using automation frameworks for execution.
