About the role
This role leads the mechanical design of optical transceivers for 1.6T and 3.2T OSFP products.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical aspects of optical transceivers for 1.6T and 3.2T OSFP form factors. - Create Solidworks 3D models and 2D drawings, perform tolerance analysis, and document BOMs via Agile and PDME. - Collaborate with EE and optical engineering teams to integrate components into finished products. - Conduct MCR and MDR reviews to document engineering design progress. - Support occasional overseas travel to resolve DFM with vendors and manufacturing factories.
What you'll need
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. - 2+ years of mechanical design experience. - Fluency in Solidworks 3D and 2D drawings and tolerance analysis. - Experience with metal manufacturing methods including machining, stamping, molding, welding, brazing, casting, plating, and 3D printing. - Knowledge and experience in sheet metal fabrication as well as rack and chassis designs. - Experience in semiconductor laser diodes, laser alignment, diode laser packaging, fiber optics, fiber coupled lasers, fiber lasers, or diode laser optics.

- Thermal simulation experience using Flotherm.
