About the role
This role involves coding, debugging, and testing embedded firmware applications for Renesas MCUs, reporting to the Manager, MCU Application Engineering.
What you'll do
- Provide technical support to customers using Renesas MCU products.
- Understand and articulate MCU solutions and their value propositions to meet customer needs.
- Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ (bare-metal or RTOS).
- Develop Proof-of-Concept solutions to showcase capabilities of Renesas MCU products.
- Manage customer escalations and coordinate with internal teams to resolve technical issues.
- Provide guidance and training on MCU products to internal teams and customers.
What you'll need
- BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of professional industry experience in embedded systems.
- Strong experience in embedded MCU firmware development (C/C++).
Nice to have
- Foundational understanding of CPU architecture and electronic circuits.
- RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Azure RTOS).
- Solid understanding of MCU peripherals and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, PMBus, CAN, Ethernet).
- Experience in IoT connectivity, server protocols, and security applications.
- Prior AE / FAE or customer-facing engineering experience.
