About the role
As a Staff Engineer, Firmware Test in the Technology Enabling Development Lab (TED), you will focus on host interface firmware testing at the intersection of system software and flash management firmware. This firmware interfaces with Samsung V-NAND technology for enterprise-class storage deployments.
What you'll do
- Develop black-box functional test coverage and test methodologies for NVMe SSDs. - Debug and triage failures, collaborating with the firmware team to reproduce issues, design experiments, and run them. - Analyze customer field issues and enhance functional test coverage where test gaps are identified.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience or Master's degree with 8+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. - Strong programming experience and demonstrated proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Linux shell scripts. - Prior NVMe and PCIe knowledge or direct experience with NVM Express, PCI Express, or NAND Flash/FTL storage technologies. - Technical understanding of enterprise storage and server systems, alongside proficiency in Linux.
