About the role
The DRAM Field Application Engineer leads customer-facing technical engagements and serves as a technical interface between key customers, contract manufacturers, and headquarters. The role is responsible for driving design wins, managing customer programs, and ensuring the adoption, qualification, and lifecycle management of DRAM products.
What you'll do
- Serve as the primary senior technical interface for key customers, providing guidance on DRAM products, system integration, and issue resolution. - Identify customer technical and product requirements to drive design wins through product evaluation, sampling, and qualification. - Lead new product introductions (NPI), including qualification planning, sample planning, and coordination across customers, contract manufacturers, and HQ teams. - Manage customer product lifecycle activities, including product roadmap communication, PCN/EOL management, and technical documentation support. - Oversee customer product quality as the escalation point for RMA, failure analysis, and corrective action activities with HQ QA teams. - Collaborate cross-functionally with HQ R&D, Product Planning, Quality, Sales, and Operations teams to align customer needs with product strategies.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. - 10–15 years of experience in Field Application Engineering, customer technical support, or semiconductor/memory-related roles. - Working knowledge of DRAM products, memory architecture, and DRAM operation principles. - Experience managing customer qualifications, system-level debugging, and technical issue resolution. - Authorization to work in the United States.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical field. - Experience in the semiconductor industry focused on DRAM or memory products. - Hands-on experience with DRAM quality management, reliability, and failure analysis processes. - Experience leading major customer accounts or strategic programs. - Fluent bilingual communication in English and Korean within global, customer-facing environments.
