You will work closely with Architecture, MCU SoC design, Design Verification, and System Test teams to bring graphics capabilities from FPGA emulation platforms to production silicon.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with software architects to define and evolve the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) and graphics software, including API, middleware, and UI frameworks for embedded GPUs on Ambiq MCUs. - Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of GPU HAL and integration of Display HAL layers. - Develop, integrate, and optimize graphics middleware, including OpenGL ES and vector graphics implementations, and integrate with graphics UI frameworks such as LVGL. - Investigate and improve rendering performance, memory usage, and power efficiency across the CPU, GPU, memory, and display paths. - Develop and maintain example applications, benchmarks, and test cases to demonstrate and validate graphics features. - Execute GPU-focused pre-silicon verification on FPGA platforms as well as post-silicon bring-up, system validation, and hands-on laboratory debugging.
What you'll need
- BS in ECE/CS with 8+ years of experience, or MS in ECE or Computer Science with 6+ years of experience. - Expertise in at least one embedded GPU IP, including the full graphics pipeline and hands-on experience developing HAL and graphics software stacks. - In-depth experience with OpenGL ES or other 3D graphics APIs. - Experience with graphics UI frameworks such as LVGL. - Experience with embedded system display interfaces, such as MIPI DSI, DBI, DPI, or Memory-In-Pixel. - In-depth knowledge of ARM architecture, with experience developing embedded MCU code in C and assembly language on Arm Cortex-M processors. - Understanding of embedded RTOS concepts, git source code control, scripting languages, and hands-on lab equipment including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Nice to have
- Experience with vector graphics acceleration or software libraries, such as OpenVG. - Preference for ARM M-profile (Cortex-M) cores. - Experience with RTOS implementations including Zephyr and FreeRTOS. - Python scripting experience. - Experience using AI tools such as Cursor or OpenAI Codex to develop test code or debug issues.
