About the role
This role develops, operates, and evolves the engineering infrastructure used to design and verify high-performance CPUs. You will work at the intersection of software engineering, hardware verification, and high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
What you'll do
- Develop software and automation for CPU development and verification workflows, collaborating directly with CPU design and verification engineers. - Build tools and automation to submit, manage, monitor, and analyze distributed compute workloads across HPC compute farms. - Improve CI and regression infrastructure, linking source control, CI systems, verification tools, workload schedulers, and engineering services. - Establish infrastructure observability through metrics, logging, dashboards, alerting, and automated diagnostics. - Diagnose and debug bottlenecks across software, hardware verification tools, operating systems, compute infrastructure, and storage to improve verification throughput.
What you'll need
- 5-10 years of relevant software engineering or infrastructure experience. - Expertise in Python or Ruby, alongside shell scripting experience and proficiency with Linux systems. - Experience with CI/CD or other automated build, test, and regression systems. - Familiarity with hardware design and verification flows, including simulation, regression testing, test execution, results consolidation, and failure analysis. - Experience managing, monitoring, and diagnosing distributed workloads in high-performance or large-scale compute environments using logs, metrics, profiling, and tracing.
Nice to have
- Experience in CPU, SoC, ASIC, or other semiconductor design and verification environments, including knowledge of SystemVerilog. - Familiarity with hardware simulation, emulation, formal verification, and regression management tools. - Experience managing HPC workloads with IBM Spectrum LSF, Slurm, or similar systems. - Hands-on experience with Jenkins or continuous integration orchestration systems. - Knowledge of Linux system programming, process management, resource accounting, containerized development environments, and networked storage. - Experience with packaging and release of hardware products, automated packaging and testing flows, or compliance standards such as IP-XACT.
