Support strategic hyperscaler, OEM, and ODM deployments on server processor SoCs across DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, and CXL interfaces.
About the role
As a Customer Engineer on the Server Processor Platforms team, you will serve as a technical interface between internal product teams and strategic customers including hyperscalers, OEMs, and ODMs. You will support customer adoption, bring-up, and commercialization for server SoCs across thermal, power, SI/PI, and firmware domains.
What you'll do
- Provide hardware support for strategic customers adopting server processor SoCs across design, bring-up, validation, and deployment phases. - Perform detailed reviews of customer schematics, PCB layouts, thermal designs, power delivery networks, and signal integrity plans. - Support SoC interface validation and debug across DDR, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, Ethernet, and other high-speed interfaces. - Collaborate with internal engineering, software, validation, and product teams to address customer technical challenges and feedback. - Use reference platforms and platform implementation guides to assist customer development and deliver technical documentation, training, and onboarding material. - Drive continuous improvement of support processes and infrastructure to scale across customer engagements.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering, Hardware Design, or related experience (or Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with 2+ years). - Experience reviewing schematics, PCB layouts, and power delivery networks (PDN). - Hardware debug experience supporting high-speed interfaces and board-level issues.
Nice to have
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. - 6 years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience in server platform design, bring-up, or customer-facing technical roles. - Prior experience supporting hyperscalers, OEMs, or ODMs in server hardware deployment. - High-speed board design experience with DDR5, PCIe Gen6/Gen7, CXL, SerDes, Ethernet, PDN design, SI/PI simulation and debug, and EMI/EMC mitigation. - Experience with system bring-up tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and BERTs, alongside system firmware (UEFI, BMC, BIOS) interactions. - Exposure to server platform standards (OCP, JEDEC, PCI-SIG, OCP NIC 3.0), programming/scripting (Python, shell), or silicon validation and debug.
