About the role
SanDisk is seeking a Sr. Staff VLSI Design Engineer in Milpitas, CA, focused on NAND memory design and verification. The role centers on designing, developing, and evaluating analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for 3D NAND memories.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate analog and mixed-signal ICs for high-performance 3D NAND flash memories.
- Design low-power analog modules including OPAMP, voltage regulator, and reference generator circuits.
- Develop high-voltage word line driver circuits that deliver accurate analog voltages to block decoders.
- Perform sensing operation analysis and power/ground network analysis to support precise and fast sensing.
- Write module interface specifications covering input/output port descriptions, architecture, and operational details.
- Verify designs through HSPICE, PrimeSim, and Verilog simulations, and collaborate with characterization engineers on silicon validation and issue resolution.
What you'll need
- MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience, PhD with 8+ years, or BS with 12+ years.
- Demonstrated knowledge of VLSI design, VLSI circuits, and analog integrated circuit design.
- Knowledge of digital design, RTL, nanoscale fabrication, and characterization.
- Experience verifying circuits using HSPICE, PrimeSim, and Verilog simulation tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex integrated circuit problems.
Nice to have
- Knowledge and experience in non-volatile memory design, specifically NAND flash memory cell operation.
- A strong device background and experience evaluating new process technologies for use in circuit design.
