About the role
Entegris is seeking a Sr. Research Scientist to lead research and development activities relating to graphite and/or silicon carbide materials and post-processing methodologies at the POCO Materials facility in Decatur, TX. Reporting to the Director of R&D, you will define needs, plan, and execute projects focused on carbon/graphite and SiC materials technologies.
What you'll do
- Lead research and development activities to plan and execute projects covering graphite and SiC material production and post-processing methodologies. - Contribute to product strategies and aid in identifying chemical and synthesis design spaces that address customer requirements. - Develop new processes to enhance existing materials and evaluate continuous improvement research initiatives. - Lead teams in releasing developed products and processes into manufacturing using lean and six sigma methods. - Identify and execute university and external research collaborations. - Contribute to the development and implementation of technology roadmaps.
What you'll need
- Ph.D. in a relevant technical field such as chemistry, physics, or materials science. - Experience with graphite, silicon carbide, or other carbide materials systems. - Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts into practical solutions for complex engineering problems. - Willingness and ability to integrate AI and data-driven methods into technology development activities. - Capacity to comply with the federally mandated requirements of U.S. export control law.
