About the role
Mechatronics systems design engineers are part of a multidisciplinary team developing metrology equipment used in the semiconductor industry. This role is within the Film and Scatterometry Technology (FaST) Division, supporting hardware and software solutions for optical metrology systems.
What you'll do
- Work independently on data collection, analysis, calibration, and writing scripts using Python or Matlab. - Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather required data in the lab or the cleanroom. - Define comprehensive plans for system integration, testing, and troubleshooting. - Collaborate closely with the customer support organization to address technical challenges. - Travel to customer sites as needed (< 10%).
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience, Master's degree with 6 years of related experience, or Doctorate degree with 3 years of related experience. - Understanding of feedback control system design, system identification, signal processing, and their application to control and characterize mechanical systems. - Experience with experimental design and hardware-in-the-loop experimentation to retire design risks. - Basic to intermediate knowledge of precision machine design. - Proficiency in scripting with Python or Matlab for data collection, analysis, and calibration.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of numerical optimization. - Knowledge of image processing.
