About the role
The Senior Manager of NPI is responsible for leading the end-to-end product introduction lifecycle for multiple product families, from development handoff through volume production.
What you'll do
- Own and drive the NPI strategy across multiple concurrent product families, leading the full lifecycle from development handoff, pilot builds, qualification, ramp, to high-volume manufacturing. - Establish and improve NPI processes, readiness criteria, and phase-gate reviews while mitigating risks related to yield, manufacturability, test coverage, supply chain, and quality. - Drive DFM/DFT/DFA alignment early in development and lead root-cause analysis of complex technical and manufacturing issues across internal and external sites, including OSAT and foundry partners. - Hire, develop, and manage a team of NPI engineers and managers, setting clear goals and building scalable organizational structures. - Partner with Product Management and Program Management on product roadmaps, owning NPI cost targets, ramp plans, and manufacturing KPIs. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across yield, cycle time, cost, and scalability using operational dashboards and standardized best practices.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. - 10+ years of experience in NPI, manufacturing, or operations engineering in semiconductor or complex hardware environments. - 5+ years of people management experience, including hiring and managing senior engineers and managers. - Proven track record of launching multiple products into volume production. - Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, yield learning, test, reliability, and qualification.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. - Experience managing NPI across multiple sites and external manufacturing partners. - Prior ownership of NPI strategy for a product line or technology platform. - Experience presenting to senior executives and driving alignment at the leadership level. - Background in high-reliability or precision products (e.g., semiconductors, MEMS, RF, or automotive/industrial devices).

How we counted: 2487 open Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering (Manufacturing Equipment) roles from 78 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 25 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Process, Fab & Equipment family row.
