About the role
As a Test Development Engineer, you will contribute to the development, validation, and deployment of production test solutions for Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and oven-based trimming/calibration systems. This role involves supporting new product introduction (NPI) and test program development for MEMS-based precision timing devices.
What you'll do
- Develop, validate, and release production test programs for Eagle Test Systems (ETS88) and oven-based trimming/calibration systems.
- Lead test program debugging, optimization, and correlation activities.
- Lead the design, validation, and qualification of DUT boards, interface hardware, load boards, and test fixtures.
- Perform tester-to-tester, site-to-site, and platform correlation studies.
- Lead validation of hardware and software changes for test systems.
- Work closely with Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Equipment Engineering, and OSAT partners.

- At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor test, automation, manufacturing engineering, or related technical fields.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor device testing and electronic measurement techniques.
- Programming knowledge in C/C++.
- Familiarity with software development, scripting, debugging, and data analysis.
- Understanding of analog, mixed-signal, or power electronics fundamentals.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Eagle ETS88 or other ATE platforms.
- Familiarity with oven-based trimming, calibration, or characterization systems.
- Experience with instrumentation such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency counter, and switching systems.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools such as JMP, Galaxy, Exensio, Power BI, or equivalent.
- Exposure to Python or MATLAB.
- Experience with lab projects involving hardware-software integration.

How we counted: 553 open Silicon Test Engineering (DFT Test) roles from 78 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 17 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Silicon Validation & Test family row.
