In this role, you will interface between the laboratory and departments including production, quality, product management, and engineering to improve testing accuracy, lab throughput, and data stability.
What you'll do
- Ensure data integrity and compliance across analytical and electronic systems, approving change controls and risk assessments. - Lead or support investigations into deviations, out-of-specification/out-of-trend (OOS/OOT) results, and contamination events using structured problem-solving tools including 8D, RCA, and FMEA. - Own, maintain, and drive continuous improvements in laboratory quality systems aligned with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 standards. - Implement statistical process control (SPC) to drive analytical testing stability, instrument accuracy, and reduced variability. - Review instrument qualification, calibration, metrology practices, and support the review and validation of analytical methods. - Support customer, ISO, and internal audits while providing quality oversight for analyst qualification and competency.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience in an analytical lab, quality engineering, or QA role. - Working knowledge of ISO 17025 or equivalent laboratory quality systems. - Experience with analytical method validation, investigations, and proper instrumentation controls including GR&R, method uncertainty, stability, and correlation and matching. - Hands-on experience applying quality tools such as SPC/SQC, FMEA, Pareto charts, histograms, trend analysis, design of experiments, cause and effect diagrams, and 8D problem-solving methodology. - Familiarity with statistical analysis software such as JMP or Minitab.
Nice to have
- Experience in the semiconductor materials supply chain. - Familiarity with trace or ultra-trace analytical techniques such as ICP-MS and SIMS. - Experience supporting customer or regulatory audits. - Exposure to LIMS, CDS, or laboratory software validation.

How we counted: 66 open Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering (Yield Engineering) roles from 26 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 20 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Process, Fab & Equipment family row.
