What you'll do
- Lead and perform custom analog layout design at the chip, functional block, block, sub-block, leaf cell, and standard cell levels for CMOS and BiCMOS circuits.
- Execute schematic-driven layout design while adhering to design constraints.
- Develop top-chip and block-level floor plans, power distribution networks, shielding structures, and device-matching layouts.
- Verify layouts and ensure successful DRC, LVS, and ERC signoff.
- Own chip-level integration, verification, and tape-out activities.
- Train and mentor junior layout engineers and offshore layout contractors.

How we counted: 38 open Physical Design (Digital Backend) roles from 22 employers tracked in the SemiconductorJobs index, counted 15 Oct 2026. Specialty figures count only roles carrying this exact specialty label, so an employer's related work in neighbouring specialties is not included there — it is counted in the wider Physical Implementation family row.
