About the role
This role involves designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs.
What you'll do
- Design and develop embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and utility programs.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineers to design system-level software solutions.
- Obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.
- Debug and test in C on embedded platforms using stop-mode debug tools like JTAG/SWD.
- Work with BSP development including device driver development and board bring-up.
- Use development and build tools for applications running within Embedded Linux.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering experience OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering experience.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python.
- Proficient with development in C including debug and testing, using GNU/LLVM tools, on embedded platforms using stop-mode debug tools such as JTAG/SWD.
- Skilled with BSP development including device driver development, board bring-up, RTOS, secure boot design & TrustZone architecture.
- Experience with development and build tools for applications running within Embedded Linux environment.
- Proficient with unit testing for C development.
- Adept with RTOS fundamentals, SoC architecture (core, cache, memory, bus architecture, IOs), common hardware blocks and multi-threaded programming.
- Experience with Source Code and Configuration management tools such as git/Gerrit.
Nice to have
- Familiar with PCIe, LPDDR, SMMU, SR-IOV.
- Familiar with low-speed interfaces such as I2C, SPI, SPMI, AVSBus & PMBus.
- Familiar with implementing Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) through use of technologies such as ECC & PCI AER fields.
- Familiar working with software running on RTOS (ARM/Risc-V CPUs and Hexagon DSPs).
- Familiar with on-chip Middleware for communication, logging and power control, including Qualcomm’s Core SW Infra (e.g., Glink, QDSS, SOC power control algorithms such as DVFS, DCVS).
- Experience OpenBMC and server management standards: IPMI, Redfish, PLDM, MCTP.
- Experience working with microprocessor building blocks like microprocessor execution levels, interrupt controller & timers.
- Software development and debug tools including compilers, profilers, source control systems, emulators, JTAG and serial debuggers, and logic analyzers.
- Understanding of accelerator architectures, including compute engines, memory hierarchies, DMA engines, and host-device communication mechanisms.
- Experience debugging performance bottlenecks across compute, memory, and I/O subsystems.
- Design and implement firmware enabling scalable, topology-aware communication across AI accelerator deployments spanning SoC, card, server, rack.
