About the role
This role leads a team responsible for customer-facing software quality initiatives, field application engineering support, and product validation activities for Compute Test products.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop a team of Software Quality Applications Engineers.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical customer quality and reliability issues.
- Partner with internal software engineering, release, marketing, and customer support teams to investigate and resolve customer issues.
- Drive root cause analysis for customer escapes using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, Fishbone Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Establish and monitor key quality metrics, including defect trends, field reliability, customer feedback, and corrective action effectiveness.
- Lead customer-facing technical reviews, quality audits, and business reviews.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of experience in software quality engineering, software testing, field applications, or product validation.
- Prior people leadership experience or demonstrated success leading technical teams and projects.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and software quality engineering principles.
- Experience with software validation, test automation, defect management, and quality management systems.
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis, CAPA, FMEA, and reliability engineering.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting semiconductor test, automated test equipment (ATE), industrial automation, or advanced manufacturing solutions.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and modern software quality engineering practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar certification.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other quality standards.
- Experience managing customer escalations and driving cross-functional resolution.
