About the role
This role involves the development, testing, and support of high-speed serial communication and data conversion IPs.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, test, and maintain firmware/software for high-speed serial communication (SerDes) and data conversion IPs.
- Refactor existing software to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain regression test suites using tools like gtest.
- Evolve and modernize legacy software infrastructure to support hardware and system requirements.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins, Linux, and shell scripting (bash).
- Debug and resolve complex issues in field-deployed systems.
What you'll need
- BSEE with 8+ years, MSEE with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proficiency in C/C++ with expertise in threading, network programming, and system-level software development.
- Strong experience in firmware/software development (full lifecycle) and software refactoring.
- Expertise in regression test development and maintenance, including tools like gtest.
- Experience with Linux system programming (kernel modules, drivers), bash scripting, and Jenkins CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with Linux administration (system configuration, troubleshooting).
- Knowledge of high-speed SerDes and related protocols.
Nice to have
- Experience with serial communication interfaces (SPI, TWI, UART, USB).
- Proficiency in Python or shell scripting for automation or test equipment control.
- Ability to debug hardware-software interactions using lab equipment and RTL simulations.
- Experience with revision control tools (Git) and bug tracking systems (Jira).
- Strong grasp of hardware-software tradeoffs, including ability to evaluate and implement minimal firmware for prototyping.
