About the role
The Software Engineering Intern, Cloud Platform contributes to key functionality for GlobalFoundries' Customer Engagement Portal. The role supports full-stack web application development across user interfaces, backend APIs, database design, authentication, real-time collaboration, visualization, and silicon-validation workflows.
What you'll do
- Develop frontend functionality and interactive design-visualization interfaces. - Support backend API development and frameworks in cloud and containerized environments. - Use performance-monitoring tools and user feedback to analyze and optimize application performance and user experience. - Participate in code reviews for frontend and backend contributions. - Collaborate with hardware validation and design teams to improve the silicon-validation platform and provide input on architectural decisions. - Maintain documentation and reference implementations, support platform API releases, and assist customers with validation workflows.
What you'll need
- Actively pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field through an accredited program during the internship, with at least sophomore standing at the time of application. - Overall GPA of at least 3.0 in good academic standing. - English fluency (written and verbal). - Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
Nice to have
- Prior related internship or co-op experience. - Experience with real-time applications such as WebSockets, real-time collaboration, or streaming data. - Experience with full-stack web development, cloud platforms, containerized environments, APIs, databases, authentication, or visualization tools. - Experience leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity and workflows.
