About the role
MatX is seeking silicon micro-architects and design engineers responsible for delivering performant and functionally accurate silicon across compute, memory management, and high-speed connectivity.
What you'll do
- Contribute to the silicon architecture-to-design methodology across blocks, subsystems, and fullchip design. - Own subsystem or chip-level silicon design deliverables from micro-architecture through to sign-off ready design. - Plan and drive reviews on micro-architecture specifications, design specifications, execution progress, area, and timing closure toward design freeze and tapeout milestones. - Work with verification, DFT, and physical design co-owners to deliver performance, power, and area results.
What you'll need
- Concept-to-silicon experience driving silicon design for subsystems and top-level functions from architecture specification to production silicon. - 5+ years of experience with SystemVerilog, Python, C/C++, and scripting or programming languages for chip design flows. - Production-proven experience with silicon micro-architecture and design concepts for compute (CPUs, GPUs, accelerators), high-speed connectivity, and memory management. - Experience with design synthesis, equivalence checking, design lint, and clock-domain-crossing flows. - Working knowledge of DFT and physical design concepts to achieve test coverage, timing, power, and area goals. - Experience testing designs and working with verification teams toward performance and coverage closure goals.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with silicon and firmware implementations of PCIe, HBM, DMA, or die-to-die subsystems. - Familiarity with verification and emulation platforms and methodologies. - Hands-on experience participating in silicon debug and bring-up.
