About the role
As a Silicon Summer Intern, you will join one of four specialist silicon teams across logical design, verification, physical design, or design for test (DFT). You will contribute directly to chip development for AI compute systems using industry-standard EDA tools.
What you'll do
- Work on areas such as register-transfer level (RTL) design, SOC integration, verification methods, physical implementation, or DFT depending on your team assignment. - Utilize industry-standard electronic design automation (EDA) tools to execute engineering tasks with guidance from senior engineers. - Develop practical silicon engineering skills in RTL, verification, timing, or physical design to support chip development and tapeout preparation. - Participate in technical reviews, explain your design approaches, and solve implementation problems across the chip development lifecycle.
What you'll need
- Currently working towards a degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline such as Physics or Mathematics. - Technical skills in C, C++, or Python demonstrated through coursework, projects, or practical experience. - Understanding of and interest in silicon design fundamentals, including ASICs, verification, logical design, DFT, or physical design. - Existing right to work in the UK for the full 12-week duration of the internship without visa sponsorship.
