About the role
As a Test Engineer at Coherent Corp, you will review product specifications, design and implement test procedures, and perform calibrations and functional testing to ensure the quality and performance of fiber optic modules.
What you'll do
- Review and interpret product specifications and technical documentation for fiber optic modules. - Design, develop, and implement comprehensive test schemes for new and existing products. - Perform calibration, functional testing, and validation of fiber optic modules and subsystems. - Analyze test data to assess product performance, identify trends, and flag deviations. - Document testing procedures, setups, and results, and generate thorough test reports for engineering, manufacturing, and QA teams. - Work occasionally in a Class 10,000 clean-room environment and move light equipment and tooling (<25 lbs) when setting up manufacturing stations.
What you'll need
- BS, MS, or PhD in optics, physics, engineering, or related technical fields. - Experience with related test instruments and communication interfaces. - Ability to use programming languages such as Python, Visual Basic, or LabVIEW. - Ability to read, learn, and analyze complex test methods and develop solutions independently.
