About the role
This role involves monitoring, sustaining, and improving diffusion equipment and processes at the Essex Junction site Fab 9, a 200mm semiconductor manufacturing facility.
What you'll do
- Monitor equipment performance and manage preventative and corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment-related issues using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills.
- Recover equipment from process interruptions and complete event documentation.
- Effectively communicate equipment status and area updates to the Lead Tech and/or Engineer.
- Perform work activities in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to EHS&S policies.
What you'll need
- High School Degree (or equivalent).
- Electrical or mechanical experience, fulfilling one of the following:
- Basic reading and writing comprehension skills.
- Basic computer navigation skills (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook).
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements.
- Ability to work in a standing position for an extended period during a 12-hour shift.
- Ability to lift equipment and tools when performing maintenance activities (above 50lbs requires a two-person lift).
- Flexible and willing to work any shift.
* 2-year technical degree and 4 years of relevant experience. * 2 years of relevant military experience and 4 years of relevant experience. * 4+ years of relevant experience (automotive repair, BOCES, HVAC, aviation, cable installation, computer routing, telecommunications, electrical work, etc).
Nice to have
- Experience with Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and reacting to Out-of-Control conditions, including defect troubleshooting.
- Ability to develop and enhance operating procedures.
- Ability to read and comprehend schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
- Experience utilizing basic hand tools and quality workmanship principles.
- Experience with troubleshooting and structured problem-solving techniques.
- Basic understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Associate degree in engineering technology, military equivalent, trade equivalent, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing.
