About the role

This role is for a Senior Technician responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving equipment and/or processes in the assigned area at GlobalFoundries' Essex Junction site Fab 9, a 200mm semiconductor manufacturing facility.

What you'll do

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment according to operating procedures.
  • Monitor, control, and test semiconductor equipment for manufacturing readiness.
  • Recover equipment from process interruptions and document events.
  • Communicate equipment and area status updates to Lead Tech and/or Engineer.
  • Follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with teams and manage time to prioritize daily work.

What you'll need

  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • 2-year technical degree and 4 years of relevant experience, OR 2 years of relevant military experience and 4 years of relevant experience, OR 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Electrical or mechanical experience.
  • Basic reading and writing comprehension skills.
  • Basic computer navigation skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for an extended period of time during a 12-hour shift.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in engineering technology, military equivalent, trade equivalent, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ Years of direct experience working in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Experience utilizing basic hand tools.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Basic understanding of the principles of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and comprehend schematics / blueprints / electrical diagrams.
  • Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality.
